Travel Soccer Tryouts for Fall 2024-Spring 2025

West Orange United is holding tryouts for boys and girls born between 2010 and 2016 for the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 soccer seasons. All new players interested in playing travel soccer next year must register for and attend the tryouts. Parents please note: this program is a two season (fall 2023-spring 2024) commitment. 

There is no cost to tryout, but registration is required. Registration will close on May 3, 2023.

Tryouts will be held by gender and birth year as scheduled below. If your player is unable to attend their scheduled session, please contact us at westorangeunitedfc@gmail.com.

All tryouts will be held at WEST ORANGE HIGH SCHOOL (Lincoln Field, off Pleasant Valley Way).

Please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to start time to check in. Players must have shin guards, a ball and water.

GIRLS TRYOUTS

* Tryouts will be held at a regular team practice.

IMPORTANT INFO. FOR PARENTS:

• Travel soccer is a two season (fall and spring) commitment. The fall season runs from early September through mid-November 2024. The spring season runs from mid-March through mid-June 2025. An optional winter session will also be offered (additional cost).
• Teams practice two evenings per week and play games each weekend (Saturday or Sunday). Travel for games generally ranges from 10 minutes to an hour, with the average being about 40 minutes. Players are expected to attend all practices and games.
• The registration fee for next year has not yet been set. We expect a modest increase over the 2023-2024 cost of $1100. Players invited to join a team will be required to make a deposit of $100 by June 30, with the balance of the fee due in installments. Some financial aid is available. All players will also be required to purchase practice and game uniforms. 
• WOUFC follows a player development model.  Each year teams are formed based on age (birth year) and coaches’ evaluation to provide the best possible environment for each player to develop his/her skills and understanding of the game. Team placement is not permanent and may change from year to year and occasionally season to season. 
• Travel soccer requires a serious commitment of time and effort from both players and families. Those not invited to join a team or not comfortable making the required commitment at this time are strongly encouraged to continue their development through Mountain Top’s excellent in-town soccer programs.
